Here you will find answers to questions about payment
How much do we have to pay?
The broadcasting licence fee for 2019 is NOK 3.038,56. This includes 12 percent value added tax. The fee is divided into two semi-annual instalments, each of NOK 1.519,28.
When will we be billed?
The licence is sent out twice a year. The due dates are 31 January and 31 July and you will receive the invoice about three weeks before the due date.
In certain cases, you can receive the bill outside of the two fixed payment dates. For example it could be the case that you have been registered with a license because you have bought a TV.
eInvoice and Direct Debit?
In order to create an eInvoice use your licence number as the eInvoice reference in the net bank. You will then receive the eInvoice from the next date of payment. To create a direct debit, you must refer to the KID- number that is entered on the invoice sent to you.
We would inform you that only the person to whom the licence is registered can create the eInvoice in their net bank. If the licence is registered on several names (cohabitants/spouses) the eInvoice must be created on the first name stated on the invoice.
You can have your eInvoice paid automatically on the due date by combining the eInvoice with a Direct Debit. With the combination, the eInvoice is still sent directly to your net bank and stored there, but you do not have to approve the payment for the money to be deducted from the account.
Can I split up the licence?
Yes, you can pay your licence in instalments. In order to arrange this, you will need to contact us with information about how many instalments you want, and the due dates when you want to make the payments. Please note that you will have to pay a penalty charge of 15% of the unpaid amount after the deadline for the licence periods (31 January and 31 July).
What happens if we pay too late?
If you pay after the due date, you will have to pay an additional penalty charge. This comprises 15% of the unpaid amount.
We send a reminder about a month after the payment due date.
If you do not pay with the reminder you will receive a debt collection notice. If you still do not pay, the demand will be sent to Statens innkrevingssentral for enforced collection. Then you will also have to pay additional costs amounting to NOK 1 150,-.
Have you received a notice from the Norwegian National Collection Agency? (Statens innkrevingssentral)
If you have not paid for the licence to NRK, you will eventually receive a notice of attachment proceedings from the Norwegian National Collection Agency for enforcement of payment by deduction from salary or benefits. They have then taken over the collection of the unpaid claim on your licence, and incurred costs of NOK 1.150.-
For questions about the payment of the claim, you must contact Statens innkrevingssentral. See: www.sismo.no
You can contact us if you have questions regarding the licence itself, but not the payment of the claim.
